LA Pop-up

  • The Hive Gallery 729 South Spring Street Los Angeles, CA, 90014 United States (map)

My name's Mirabelle Jones and I am the founder of the not for profit organization Art Against Assault. I'm teaming up with The Hive Gallery in Los Angeles to run a DCS pop up on December 18th from 1pm to 5pm that will benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Mental Health Resources Department.

Where: The Hive Gallery 729 S. Spring St. Los Angeles, CA  http://hivegallery.com/

When: December 18th, 1pm to 5pm

Charity: Los Angeles LGBT Center https://lalgbtcenter.org/

Key VolWhy I Decided to Run a Pop Up: As a queer person who has suffered from mental illness myself and understands the stress LGBTQAI* persons have faced this year with ongoing violence towards our community, I empathize with those in my community who find the holiday season particularly challenging due to mental illness. It is my hope that this pop up will raise funds for a resource that has done so much to help the LGBTQAI* community at a time when it is very needed. I also hope the pop up will help us celebrate our enduring strength as a community at one by holding space for us and those we've lost at one of the most well-recognized and loved galleries in Los Angeles.

Brief Description: This DCS will be held during the Hive Gallery's open hours inviting visitors to support both local artists as well as the LGBT Center's mental health resources. A DJ will be present spinning relaxing classics as over 20 bakers from the greater Los Angeles area provide their best grey and rainbow toned baked goods to support those in the queer community who are recovering from mental illness. 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the center. This DCS is brought to you by The Hive Gallery, The Los Angeles LGBT Center, Mirabelle Jones and Art Against Assault.
